MINIMAL NORDIC WOODEN MOOMIN FIGURINES BY BOYHOOD

These beautiful minimal Nordic wooden Moomin figurines by Boyhood are sure to charm anyone who grew up with these lovable characters. Tove Jansson’s Moomintroll stories are classics that first saw the light of day back in 1945. Launched as a collaboration between Danish Boyhood and Finnish Moomin, these wooden collectables blend Scandinavian design and childhood memories.

These figurines are perfect for Moomin fans of all ages! Handcrafted from solid oak wood with a one-of-a-kind look because of small variations in their form and wood grain pattern. Place them on a shelf in the kids’ room, on the coffee table in your living room or maybe on your desk to brighten up your workdays. Also perfect to wrap up and gift to a fellow Moomin fan – or anyone in need of a mood boost!

Moomintroll is a dreamer and a thinker who thinks that Moominvalley is the safest and most interesting place in the world. That’s why he’s so curious and brave. The only thing that makes Moomintroll feel bad is being left alone, so here is your chance to keep him company and share the energising positivity he brings. Moomintroll comes in two sizes; small and large. The charming character has movable arms which you can position to a cheerful greeting or lift towards the ceiling. Whatever your mood may be, Moomintroll is sure to turn any frown upside down.

The Snufkin figurine is another figurine in the series! In the Moomin stories, Snufkin is Moomintroll’s best friend and a bit of a nomad who leaves Moominvalley every winter on adventures but always returns to his friend as soon as spring arrives. The wooden character also has movable arms that you can position, for example, to a cheerful greeting – as if Snufkin had just returned from his travels!

Boyhood is a Danish design company, which designs and produces modern design objects in natural materials. It is also worth checking out other wooden figures by the brand like for instance Snoopy, Hello Kitty, Gummy Bear, Ballon Dog or the Maverick aeroplane. I am sure there will be something you like here that will transport you back to your childhood.

“Most of my inspiration comes from my own childhood and two years ago the idea of making the loving and well-known characters that I remember so well from my childhood began to grow. This all started with me reading Tove Jansson’s beloved novels about Moomintroll and his friends to my own children. The novel was lying on my desk and it kept nagging my subconscious. After several months I went to my workshop and the first prototype of Moomintroll in solid oak was born,” says Boyhood founder and designer, Jakob Burgsø.

Moomintroll and Snufkin are the first characters from the Moomin stories to have their own Boyhood figures, but there will be more to come. Boyhood plans to introduce seven more Moomin collectables during the next three years, so keep your eyes peeled!
