Want to relax in a cozy, modern cabin nestled in the beautiful Finnish forest? I think many of us are dreaming of a remote retreat right now in the middle of nowhere… and the Niliaitta cabins designed by Studio Puisto looks like just the right spot for when this is possible again.
These cabins are a part of a larger accommodation and tourism concept in the Kivijärvi municipality in Finland and will consist of up to 50 cabins all integrated into the surrounding nature. Since this area is remote, the aim is to drive tourism in a way that does not impede on the local nature but rather celebrates it, and having these modern cabins raised up from the ground perfectly embodies that vision. Having them raised on a single pillar, the cabins have a minimal footprint which let’s the landscape remain as untouched as possible.
I love the look of these elevated simplistic treehouse looking huts. The design studio used black-painted wood as cladding to help it blend in with its surroundings, and in contrast almost every interior surface is lined with light wooden panels creating a cozy and warm feeling when inside. With large windows, it immediately draws your attention to the outside views. No need for a tv in a stunning setting like this right?

Niliaitta is available for guests from the 15th of December 2021 and onwards.

I could definitely imagine spending a week in that cabin in winter this year! It’d be magical.
Incredible! I definitely could live there! I bet it’s expensive though!!
